Channel M Today
MAGAZINE SHOW LAUNCH FOR CHANNEL M
Channel M's early evening magazine show entitled “Channel M Today” incorporates the best of the day’s news, sport and entertainment headlines together with interviews and features relevant to the region.
On Monday to Friday from 4pm-7pm on Sky channel 203, Virgin 878, Free to Air 39 and online at www.channelm.co.uk.
Andy Crane reports all the major news stories from across Greater Manchester as they break and will give that recognised Channel M treatment to national and international stories.
Channel M Today is devoted to entertainment, lifestyle and sport. The fleet of Channel M jeeps will ferry reporters and camera operators across the region to capture news and the best of what’ going on for Channel M Today.
With a remit to represent the voices of Greater Manchester, the Channel M team continues to bring community, entertainment and music news - building on the strong relationships with all of the local venues and community groups.
Channel M is wholly dedicated to promoting the interests of the city, its ten boroughs and its people and is an award winning local channel. Amongst its firsts, it holds the world record for the most number of makeovers on a style show and was the first channel in the UK to showcase chart topping band, The Ting Tings.

Meet the presenters
Andy Crane
Andy Crane's broadcasting career spans more than twenty five years! Beginning at Piccadilly Radio in 1983 - in 1986 he joined Children's BBC, the job that would make him a household name. Andy has also presented "Top of the Pops", "The Travel Show", "Bad Influence!", and appeared on others including "The Big Breakfast", "This Morning" and "Noel's House Party" receiving a "Gotcha Oscar".
James Webster
Although new to Greater Manchester James loves getting out in the ten boroughs looking at the issues that matter most to people. He's reported on hard-hitting, serious stories including gun crime and transport funding as well as more light-hearted ones such as a runaway snake and a glitzy showbiz awards ceremony. Away from work he runs a charity organising adventure competitions for Scouts, is an amateur web designer and likes visiting friends and enjoying the great outdoors
Michael Billington
Although he’s not originally from Manchester, Michael’s lived and worked in the city for the last few years on Channel M’s sister Radio station, Real Radio. He’s reported on some of the biggest stories to hit our city, and even raced a bus across Manchester during the Congestion Charge debate. Before then, he worked at Radio stations in Leeds, South Yorkshire and Lancashire. Not that you can tell, but he’s actually a Scotsman, and still travels home to Inverness to visit family. Michael says his biggest lifetime achievement was being a guest judge on Dancing on Ice. He likes nothing more than going to gigs, cooking for friends and travelling, but loves getting back to Manchester and heading out across the patch to bring you our region’s latest news.
